Thought for the day: Matthew 26:50

Not much to post in this blog! I was just reading Matthew 26. This is a long chapter that covers the last supper, Jesus' arrest, and Jesus before the Sanhedrin. In Matthew 26:50, Judas approaches Jesus with the guards to come and arrest him and take him to be crucified. Judas, one of the 12 disciples, betrays Jesus. Can you imagine? If one of my dearest friends or a family member approached me with the police to take me to be executed, I would be so insanely angry and out of control. However, look at Jesus's response. Matthew 26:50 says this:

"Jesus replied, 'Friend, do what you came for.' Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus, and arrested him."

How did Jesus call Judas "friend" ?! I am in awe. I could go on and on... but I'll keep this post a mere "thought," just as the title implies.

Jesus is so good! It's easy to read the bible, or hear Christians use his name and feel... nothing. As Americans we've sadly become so numb to religion in general- especially Christianity. But I can truly say that all of my joy, all of my happiness, and all of my hope has come from learning and loving the Lord more- and that comes only from accepting Jesus and understanding the cross and his resurrection. I hope that you know Him, today. God is love.

"But whatever was to my profit, I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things." -Philippians 3:7-8
