July Joys: Part II

Has everyone else's July flown by this year, or am I the only one?! I was both excited and shocked when I realized yesterday that I was just two weeks away from moving into my apartment in Raleigh! I feel like every year goes by quicker the older you get- each Christmas I find myself saying "this has been the fastest year yet!" And this summer has been no exception.

My last few weeks have been filled with nannying,  wedding-shopping with Catherine, spending time with friends and the Lord, and the beach! Definitely the most laid back few weeks I've had in a long time!

First of all, my preshy friend Kacie came down to Charlotte to visit when she was in North Carolina for the week! We were together from 9 a.m until 9 p.m and it was fabulous :)

Then I was able to go wedding dress shopping/bridesmaid dress shopping with my sister, mom, aunt, and cousin! So much fun...and both trips were successful :)

Meredith and I wanted to get in on the trying-on action too;). Caged-bird veils? Ehh...

Next was our family beach trip! Bahh, it was so great! Just a week of laying out and eating with the family. Good times.

The trip started off with (my dad...) packing up the car. My mom, sister, and I each had to bring our vera bradley duffles along. I thought they looked pretty cute side by side:

Our beach house was beautiful! But still not as beautiful as the beach itself:

My brother is a sea-food champ. One night when we went to "Nances," he literally ordered a tray (not just a plate) of crab legs. Proud to be an American...
Before:
After: (Why, yes! That is a BOWL of butter next to the devoured tray!)

And what beach trip would be complete without trips to the Piggly Wiggly? Catherine and I snuck some of these $1 Hill-Billy teeth in the cart when my mom wasn't looking...I can't say that I regret it.
But luckily we took them out long enough to take a few decent pictures....

I was sad to leave the beach, but I'm just enjoying my time at home until I head back to school! I've  been nannying, collecting stuff for my apartment, and enjoying life! Here is a shout-out to one of  the precious babes I get to spend Tuesdays and Thursdays with:

What a champ!

Lastly, I'll leave you all with my favorite verse I came across in July. I saw it on Pinterest one night and took a quick screen-shot. I've been dealing with different things this July, and working on surrendering my heart's desires to the Lord... this verse was absolutely perfect!

Those were some highlights of my July joys... I'm excited to see all August has in store :)
