Beginner

Beginner (bee-gin-er) : [n] One who is just starting to learn or do something. Slang: Rookie

Hey everyone! I am always late, whether it be to dinner, to class, or (in this case) to joining in on the blogging saga. I guess I should start out by saying I don't necessarily have anything extraordinary to blog about. I don't have a PHD (or even a college degree yet for that matter). I didn't blow the SAT's out of the water, and I'm definitely no Einstein. However, I believe everyone has a story to tell. A story different and unique to them- an extraordinary story :) . So I decided I'm going to start telling mine! The lovely Kayla Williford is just so cute and deserves the credit for convincing me to start all of this. Enjoy!

I'll start off by explaining why I chose to name my blog "Waves of Joy." Is anyone a Beatles fan? I'm definitely not a die-hard fan by any means...but my adorable, older sister Catherine (aka Cat- you'll be hearing about her a lot) is. A few years ago when I was going through a bit of a rough patch, Cat quoted a line from "Across the Universe" to me: "Pools of sorrow waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind." Something about that line struck me, and I've never forgotten it. No matter what the struggles we face, or the times we feel surrounded by hardships, waves of joy and grace come soon. Waves are continuous, constant, and beautiful. We must choose to focus on the joys in our lives, for they're constantly coming to wash out the pools of sorrow!

For any of you interested in hearing the song, here is a YouTube link with lyrics! :::::
